Community Education
We believe one of the most valuable aspects of our Clinical Program is education. That’s why we partner with Hemophilia
Treatment Centers (HTCs) and local chapters around the country to conduct Educational Seminars for everyone in the
bleeding disorders community, including family members and caregivers.
Our free, skills-based educational events encourage healthful living and active lifestyles for people with bleeding
disorders. Children and adults gain self-esteem, knowledge, and a sense of empowerment as they meet other members of
the bleeding disorders community. Taught by qualified healthcare professionals, the events are interactive one-day
seminars, workshops and fitness programs that promote healthy lifestyles and provide information such as new treatment
options, advances in care and health insurance options.
Here’s just a sample of some of our community education programs and resources:
Factoring Education - Community-based educational programs that promote healthy lifestyles
unique to the bleeding disorders community. Programs are sponsored by FactorHealth and presented through local chapters or HTCs.
Factor Explorers – A unique opportunity to learn about and interact with nature in
a local outdoor setting. One-day programs are presented by chapters and treatment centers and sponsored by FactorHealth.
Factor Forums –
Community Roundtables – Facilitated discussion groups that provide a platform for the community to voice their opinions and address
specific topics of interest to the bleeding disorders community.
Factoring Partnerships - Education for teachers, school administrators and coaches in dealing
with a child with a bleeding disorder in the school environment.
